Look for texture consistency
Check whether the cheeks, forehead and neck have believable detail. Compare them with hair, clothing and the background. Extremely smooth skin beside very sharp fabric can make the processing obvious.
Review without magnification anxiety
- Start with the image at normal profile size.
- Inspect a closer view for obvious inconsistencies.
- Compare with your current originals.
- Reject changes that erase distinctive features.
You do not need every pore to be visible, and ordinary camera processing also affects texture. The issue is whether the result still looks like a believable photograph of you.
Do not add fake detail as proof
Artificial grain or sharpening can disguise smoothness without restoring authentic skin. If the output fundamentally changes your appearance, choose another result. A natural-looking finish should support likeness, not become a separate aesthetic goal that overrides it.
