Match the professional context
A designer, developer and consultant may use different levels of formality. Choose clothing and a setting that feel natural for your actual client interactions.
Review the small display
- Check that the face is clear in a small avatar.
- Avoid text or logos competing with it.
- Keep colour and editing restrained.
- Use the same current identity across relevant profiles.
A detailed workshop scene may be useful on an about page but too busy for a small marketplace icon. Keep a simpler crop for the avatar and use contextual images elsewhere.
Avoid overpromising visually
Do not add an invented office, badge or award to make the profile appear more established. A straightforward portrait supports trust more cleanly. Keep originals and rights information so you can reuse the image appropriately across platforms as your freelance work develops.
