Integrations / n8n

Charmshots + n8n.
Your photo library, on a schedule.

The verified Charmshots node reads your AI portrait and headshot photoshoots, finished photos and credit balance from any n8n workflow. Connect once with your own account, then send, sync and file your pictures wherever your work already lives.

Read-only operations · OAuth sign-in · No images generated, no credits spent

What you can automate

Fewer downloads.
More delivered.

Charmshots makes portraits from your selfies and keeps them in photoshoot libraries. The n8n node gives those libraries a door: list every shoot, read its status and credits, and fetch the labels, styles and download links of each finished photo.

Pair that with the apps you already use. Email a client the moment their shoot is ready, keep an Airtable or Notion record of every session, file a weekly backup to Drive, or get a nudge when credits run low. Generating pictures stays in the studio, where you can review every frame first.

Setup

Three steps.
No keys to copy.

01 / 03
01

Install the Charmshots node.

On n8n Cloud, open the node panel, search for Charmshots and add the verified community node. On self-hosted n8n, open Settings, then Community Nodes, choose Install and enter n8n-nodes-charmshots. Upgrading from 1.x or 2.x? Install the latest version and create a fresh credential.

02

Connect your account.

Create a Charmshots OAuth2 API credential and click Connect my account. Sign in to the Charmshots studio in the tab that opens, review the permissions on the consent screen and approve. No API key or secret is pasted anywhere; n8n registers itself and uses PKCE.

03

Pick an operation and build.

Choose Get Profile, List Photoshoots, Get Photoshoot or List Photos, map the returned ids into the next node and connect the rest of your workflow. Test with a manual run, then switch on a schedule.

Where to connect and manage access

The node sends ordinary REST requests to https://charmshots.com/v1, protected by OAuth from https://charmshots.com/oauth/n8n. When you click Connect my account in n8n, a Charmshots page asks you to sign in to the studio, then shows the account and permissions the connection will receive. Approve it and n8n stores the credential and refreshes tokens on its own. The REST tokens are separate from the MCP tokens used by AI assistants.

Every operation is read-only. The connection cannot generate images, change your account or spend credits, and it never exposes body measurements, orders or other people's information.

Operations

Four operations,
two resources.

Account

Your own Charmshots account. Nothing about other people.

  • Get Profile

Read the signed-in account: email, available credits and onboarding status.

    Inputs:
    None.
    Returns:
Your account profile with the credit balance.

    Read only · GET /v1/account

Photoshoot

A photoshoot is one generation run in the studio, with its status, the credits it used and the finished photos inside it.

  • List Photoshoots

Browse your existing photoshoots, newest first.

    Inputs:
Return All, or a Limit (default 50). Paging is handled for you.
    Returns:
Photoshoots with id, status, credits spent and creation date.

    Read only · GET /v1/photoshoots

  • Get Photoshoot

Read one photoshoot you own by its id.

    Inputs:
    Photoshoot ID (required).
    Returns:
One photoshoot with id, status, credits spent and creation date.

    Read only · GET /v1/photoshoots/:photoshootId

  • List Photos

List photo metadata for a photoshoot and an owner-only download link for each ready image.

    Inputs:
Photoshoot ID (required); Return All, or a Limit (default 50).
    Returns:
Photos with id, style, label, status, creation date and link.

    Read only · GET /v1/photoshoots/:photoshootId/photos

List operations offer Return All or a Limit (default 50) and follow paging for you. Download links open only while you are signed in to Charmshots; they are not public share links. Each node also works as a tool for n8n AI agents.

Recipes

Six workflows
worth building first.

01 / 06

01 / Schedule → Gmail

Deliver finished photos by email

Each morning, list your newest photoshoots, pull the photos marked ready and send yourself or a client a tidy email with every label, style and signed-in download link.

Schedule Trigger · Charmshots: List Photoshoots · Charmshots: List Photos · Gmail

02 / Schedule → Airtable

Sync photoshoot metadata to Airtable

Keep an Airtable base in step with your studio. Upsert one record per photoshoot with its status, credits spent and date, then add a linked table of photos per shoot.

Schedule Trigger · Charmshots: List Photoshoots · Split Out · Airtable

03 / Schedule → Slack

Slack message when a photoshoot completes

Poll every few minutes, compare each photoshoot status with the last run stored in a Data Table, and post to a channel the moment a shoot moves to ready.

Schedule Trigger · Charmshots: List Photoshoots · Data Table · If · Slack

04 / Schedule → Google Drive

Back up your photo library index to Drive

Walk every photoshoot and its photos, write the metadata and download links to a JSON or CSV file and drop a dated copy into a Drive folder each week.

Schedule Trigger · Charmshots: List Photoshoots · Charmshots: List Photos · Convert to File · Google Drive

05 / Schedule → Notion

Client portal updates

Maintain a Notion page or database row per client photoshoot. When a shoot is ready, update the status, add the photo labels and styles and leave a note for the client to collect their images.

Schedule Trigger · Charmshots: Get Photoshoot · Charmshots: List Photos · Notion

06 / Schedule → Telegram

Low credit alert

Read your profile once a day and send a Telegram or email reminder when available credits drop below the five needed for the next photo, so a client session never stalls.

Schedule Trigger · Charmshots: Get Profile · If · Telegram

Start with a Manual Trigger and Get Profile to confirm the connection, then swap in a Schedule Trigger.

Why n8n

Automation you
can read.

Run it where you like

Use n8n Cloud or host n8n yourself. Your Charmshots data moves only between your account and the apps you connect.

Hundreds of apps

Gmail, Slack, Airtable, Notion, Google Drive, Telegram and many more are a node away, with filters and branching in between.

Code when you want it

Transform photoshoot records with JavaScript or Python nodes, or hand the Charmshots node to an AI agent as a tool.

Questions

Before you
connect.

Can the n8n node generate photos or spend credits?

No. Every operation is read-only. The node reads your profile, photoshoots and photo metadata. Generating portraits happens in the Charmshots studio, and the OAuth connection cannot spend credits.

Where do I get an API key?

There is no API key. Create a Charmshots OAuth2 API credential in n8n and click Connect my account. You sign in to Charmshots in the browser, review the permissions and approve the connection. n8n registers itself, uses PKCE and refreshes the tokens for you.

Upgrading from 1.x or 2.x?

Version 3.2.0 calls the product REST API at https://charmshots.com/v1 instead of the earlier MCP endpoint, with its own OAuth audience. Tokens issued for the old resource cannot be reused, so create a new Charmshots OAuth2 API credential, reconnect it and point your Charmshots nodes at it before running workflows. Operation names and input fields keep their names.

Can the workflow download the image files?

List Photos returns an owner-only download link for each ready photo. The link opens while you are signed in to Charmshots; it is not a public share link, so email it to yourself or a teammate with studio access rather than to the public.

Is there a trigger node?

Not yet. Use a Schedule Trigger and compare results between runs. Photoshoots are listed newest first and the node follows paging for you, which makes polling simple and cheap.

How do I disconnect n8n?

Open the connected apps page at charmshots.com/oauth/n8n/connections while signed in and choose Disconnect. That revokes the access and refresh tokens; n8n will ask you to reconnect the credential before its next run.
