Inspect the source
Open the local file at a normal size and check the eyes. If it is already soft, changing the upload process cannot restore genuine detail. Look for the original download or camera file.
Try a clean export
- Return to the original image.
- Crop once with enough remaining resolution.
- Use a format accepted by the current app.
- Check the published preview after processing finishes.
A screenshot of a social-media post may have been compressed several times. A fresh export from the original often gives the app a better starting point.
Avoid sharpening the wrong problem
Strong sharpening can add halos without fixing blur. If the source is clear but the preview is not, consult the app's current upload guidance. Do not keep enlarging and recompressing the same damaged copy. A new clear portrait may be the better solution when the original is unavailable.
