Choose a reference
Use one clear, lightly edited portrait as a guide to your normal appearance. Compare other images against it for exaggerated colour, smoothing or contrast.
Review the collection
- View the set together as thumbnails.
- Identify the most heavily processed image.
- Reduce edits that make it look disconnected.
- Keep natural differences in lighting and setting.
A warm café picture need not match an outdoor portrait exactly. The problem is when one makes your skin orange and another makes it unusually pale.
Avoid the preset trap
Applying the same preset to every file can produce inconsistent results because the originals differ. Adjust modestly and compare with the source. A coherent profile is one where you remain recognisable across scenes, not one where every background has the same colour treatment.
