Bright metal, a large watch or a strong bag strap can become the first thing you notice. That may be useful in an outfit picture but less helpful in the main portrait.
Simplify deliberately
- Take a frame with your normal accessories.
- Remove one distracting element if needed.
- Check reflections near the face.
- Compare the expression and overall balance.
A necklace can add a personal detail while a reflective pendant catches so much light that it competes with the eyes. A small position change may solve the problem without removing it.
Preserve your style
Do not strip away everything distinctive to imitate a generic professional image. The aim is a clear introduction to you. Keep one or two meaningful details and let the face remain readable, especially in the picture that leads the profile.
